As part of our involvement with the Quilts of Valor Foundation we open up our classroom two days a month to anyone who would like to come to the shop and work on a Quilt of Valor quilt. This happens to be on the first Thursday of the month and the second Sunday of the month. Along with this, we give a 20% discount on patriotic fabrics to anyone who is an active member of the Quilts of Valor Foundation.
Just down the block from Piece Works Quilt Shop in Winterset, the Iowa Quilt Museum was proud to have been a part of awarding twenty-seven Quilts of Valor to service persons and veterans touched by war in July of 2017. Many QOVF members helped make this possible. Photo by Stacy Zacharias.
